NiteSite make incredibly cool screens that clip onto your scope and give you the ability to see in almost complete darkness. A product like this really deserves some seriously stylish product photography and we were delighted when the good people at Trapdoor Marketing got in touch and asked us to take the pictures.

NiteSite product photography

The first step was to get hold of a gun, luckily a friend was able to donate their air rifle for the day so next we set about tying it all in position so we could light it from all sides.

The lighting setup for NiteSite product photography

Lighting wise we had a whole bunch of rim lights to give various reflections down the length of the barrel and along the stock from below. We wanted a moody, dark and stylish look to suit the product.

The importance of good retouching

As always with this kind of product photography there is a fair amount of retouching involved to make the product look absolutely perfect. In this case our battered old air rifle was showing it's age with lots of scratches and dents on the stock so this all needed to be smoothed out and of course we had to remove the fishing wire holding the thing up.

We shot a wide variety of product photographs for them to use in their marketing campaign

The guys at Trapdoor were delighted with the images and we're looking forward to seeing them in use in their new marketing campaign for NiteSite.
