Baylham House Rare Breeds

Animal Portraits

Taking inspiration from Rococo paintings, and Suffolk born artist Thomas Gainsborough in particular, we produced a series of intimate portraits of some of the beautiful Rare Breeds that reside at Baylham House Rare Breeds Farm.

Gainsborough’s work is known, in part, for the uncanny expressions of his subjects and we tried to channel that same theme with the animals, capturing unusual or even comedic moments that satirise the traditional actor’s headshot.

This photography project brings together many threads that we at CliQQ Studios feel passionately about; animal preservation, art history and connecting with local businesses. It was a privilege to spend the day at the farm and we hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed taking them.
