Video and Motion Graphics Editor
Creative, talented and extremely hard-working Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer required for busy commercial production studio. This is a one year maternity cover position until April 2023.
CliQQ Studios create content for a diverse and exciting range of companies in both commercial and editorial sectors. We work with global household names, local start-ups and everything in between.
As part of the DC Thomson Group, the studio has the backing of a multi-million pound organisation while still maintaining the culture and freedom of an exciting independent studio.
Due to rapidly increasing demand for video content we are looking to expand our team with a new role on the post production side. This is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate to join the studio.
We are looking for someone with experience of commercial video editing and motion graphics work. They should have an intermediate or advanced understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro, After Effects and Illustrator. Experience with Davinci Resolve is not essential, but would be of benefit.
The role would suit someone with a mid-level of experience, capable of working through entire projects, with the guidance of the Studio Manager. Typical projects may include animated explainer videos, corporate video edits, title design, webinars and editing short documentary films.
This is a full-time, hybrid working, position with at least two days a week in the Colchester studio and the rest from home. You may be expected to attend shoots within the studio or on location around the UK and abroad. All software and hardware required for the job will be provided.
We are a friendly and creative studio with a strong entrepreneurial spirit which will suit ambitious and motivated applicants.

Studio Assistant
We are looking for a brilliant Studio Assistant to join us. This a full time, permanent contract. The role will cover a wide range of areas with the main focus on assisting senior photographers/videographers, both in the studio and on location.
This role will mainly cover:
- General studio maintenance
- Setting up lighting for shoots
- Helping pack, transport kit and setup on location
- Assisting during still and video shoots
- Helping the team with research
- Creating, painting and maintaining studio backgrounds
- Posting to the studio social media channels
- Shooting behind the scenes imagery and video of key shoots
- Driving the company car/van to and from location shoots
- Assisting in the retouching studio when required
- Maintaining studio equipment
- Making teas and coffees for clients
The ideal candidate will be confident, good with people, calm under pressure and happy to apply themselves to the many and varied tasks that the role will offer. A passion and talent for photography is also obviously essential, as is a friendly, personable manor. There will often be early starts and late finishes. Whilst you will begin by assisting the senior photographers on shoots the hope is that as you improve you will graduate to running shoots yourself.
In your application please mention any experience you have assisting other photographers and also with software such as Capture One, Premier or DaVinci Resolve. Video experience would be a good advantage but not essential. You will be given training in all areas of photography and video within a busy commercial studio.
The job will be based in our studio in Colchester but you will also be required to go on location, sometimes for multiple days, potentially even abroad from some shoots.
You’ll help CliQQ Studios grow, by delivering an extremely high level of service for us and for our clients, and through this you’ll have the chance to grow too. There is plenty of scope to develop this role and seek out new opportunities within an exciting and varied studio environment. You will be around live shoots on a daily basis and be working closely with everyone in our fun, friendly team. It’s a great way to get started in an exciting industry.
